Instagram and Spotify have announced a new update that enhances the integration between the two platforms, making it easier for users to add songs to their Spotify library. Starting today, Instagram users can quickly add songs they discover on the platform to their Spotify account with just a few taps.
Spotify shared, “We know music is everywhere, and that includes your social media feed. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new integration with Instagram, allowing users to effortlessly add songs from Instagram directly to their Spotify account.”
Now, when users come across a post or Story featuring a song on Instagram, they can tap on it to get more details and add it to their Spotify library without leaving the app. The new feature includes a button located next to the player for previewing songs on Instagram.
To use this feature, users must link their Spotify account to Instagram. Once linked, songs added from Instagram will appear in the “Liked Songs” playlist and under the “Your Library” tab on Spotify. This integration is available for both iOS and Android devices.
Spotify also highlighted that they’re continually seeking ways to deepen the connection between artists and fans, and this integration with Instagram helps users discover and engage with more of their favorite artists and tracks.
Notably, TikTok has had a similar feature for some time, allowing users to add songs to not only Spotify but also Apple Music and Amazon Music.
The new Instagram-to-Spotify integration is now rolling out globally. Ensure you have the latest versions of both apps installed to use this feature.
