Capcom’s classic zombie horror game, “Resident Evil 2,” is set to arrive on the Mac App Store on December 31, 2024. This highly anticipated remake will take players back to Raccoon City in 1998, amidst a terrifying zombie outbreak.
The Resident Evil franchise has been steadily making its way into the Apple ecosystem. Following the releases of “Resident Evil 4” and “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” on Mac and other Apple platforms in 2024, “Resident Evil 2” will add to the series’ horror-filled offerings.
Initially teased over the summer, “Resident Evil 2” is now available for pre-order on the Mac App Store, with an official release set for December 31. As a remake of the original classic, the game will offer some free elements for players to experience, with the full game available as an in-app purchase.
The game requires a Mac equipped with an M1 or newer Apple Silicon chip, running macOS 13 or later. It is listed as a 22.1GB download but will require approximately 31GB of space after installation. In addition to the Mac version, “Resident Evil 2” will also support iPhone and iPad, requiring an A17 or M1 chip or later, and running iOS or iPadOS 17.0 or higher.
With the release of this thrilling title, Apple device users will once again get to experience the horror and excitement of the Resident Evil series.
