Spotify has introduced significant updates for podcast creators, specifically on its Spotify for Podcasters platform. The latest addition brings new conversion metrics designed to help podcasters, whether they host their shows on Spotify or use other platforms, better understand how listeners discover their content and how discovery converts into actual streams.

In a recent blog post, Spotify detailed how these new metrics will enable creators to track their show’s discovery through key areas such as Home, search, and the user’s library. The platform provides insights into how impressions from these areas directly contribute to streams, offering creators a more complete picture of their show’s performance.

“These new details allow you to benchmark your progress and identify areas for growth. For instance, you might have a strong reach, but lower conversion from reach to interest,” Spotify explains.

For example, Home impressions come from various recommendation features like shelves, recently played shows, and podcast previews. Search impressions include search results, top podcast charts, and curated playlists. Meanwhile, library impressions show data from content saved by users for future listening.

These new insights will complement the existing metrics available to podcasters and are set to roll out to all creators in the coming weeks. With these updates, Spotify aims to empower podcasters to fine-tune their strategies and enhance their audience engagement.
